N4SPP/F4WCN receiving DC9FD
Hello all,
I called-in at the end of today’s Net and had a brief QSO with Sven, DC9FD. I had to take down my 2 x 8.4 m dipole from the roof recently, due to maintenance of one of the buildings ventilation systems. Hope to put it back up in a couple of weeks from now. In the meantime, I am using my 2 x 3.4 m rotatable dipole and 70 W transmitter output. The antenna has a remote ATU near the feed point. Of course, on 40 m, this small dipole is only 1/3 of a standard 1/2 wavelength full-size dipole. So, the rotation angle does not make much difference and I don’t know how much power is being turned into heat in the ATU, hihi.
Around 17:10 local time, I did copy Sven, DC9FD, quite well on my antenna. Basically none of the other stations… Today, local sunset is at 20:19.
